Cadbury is always remembered for its advertisements and the tagline "Asli Swaad zindagi ka".
They carefully started out with attracting the kids and then the adults in having chocolate instead of Mithai in occasions of happiness. Cadbury is reviving its old memories and its core positioning of "Enjoying the moments". The new advertisements are very attractive and reminds the adults who had forgotten about the original brand promise and will be attracted towards the brand again.
The new ads are shown below:
I believe their sales will really shoot upward after these advertisements. All in all very good work done by its agency and we should learn from how Dairy Milk evolved as a Brand in India since its arrival.
Recently Google just unveiled its new social innovation named BUZZ. After the not so successful Google Wave, the company has learned from the failure & played it safe.
Buzz is not a separate product but embedded inside Gmail. There are about 176 million unique visitors every month in Gmail so imagine 176 million people being already a member of Buzz & automatically following their friends & getting updates from them. As it is placed just below the Inbox in Gmail there is a very good probability that people will actually click on it & use it atleast once.
Google was in a habit of winning until Facebook, Twitter entered the marketplace & become really serious and huge businesses which can be a serious threat for Google in the future. Therefore Google has now realized that if they can beat MSN, Altavista & come up with a superior search engine & become a Giant in just 10 years then FaceBook & Twitter can repeat history and do it in 4 years.
Google strategy had always been acquiring companies when they start becoming big & offer tempting valuations which are very hard to resist like Youtube for $1.6 billion, DoubleClick for $3.1 billion. But Facebook and Twitter decided to stay in the game so now Google is fighting back with Reinventing orkut, Wave & now BUZZ.
Google BUZZ - Do we really need it ?
Many people think the opposite but I think we need social products like BUZZ in our life. They make sharing much more easier. I think its a very nice tool to share various stuff with your friends, brainstorm on ideas or when you need some suggestions / advice from friends.
See the video below to understand what Buzz exactly is...
Therefore i think Google did the right thing by launching Buzz & embedding it inside Gmail to have an edge over our social tools available online.
How will BUZZ shape up, its for time to see but from my experience my friends are using it regularly.
